Nancy M. McGee
Who am I?
I am married and have two sons, a daughter and of course, two dogs. After graduating from the University of Delaware I worked as a claims adjuster for a major insurance company. During my 12 years there, I realized how inadequately represented so many people were, so I decided to go to law school. At the time, my children were only 4, 6, and 9 years old, and I was also working part time, so it was definitely a challenge, but I loved it. I truly enjoyed learning the law and how it changes how we live our lives every day.
No matter how busy I was, I always found the time to attend my children’s sports and school activities I spent 6 years running the parent’s association for the boy’s high school ice hockey program and I am currently co-chairing the Ithaca College Women’s Lacrosse Booster program, where my daughter attends and is a member of the team.
I enjoy spending time at the beach in Ocean City, New Jersey and traveling with my family. During the past several years we have traveled to Italy, Turks & Caicos and Hawaii, and are looking forward to exploring other places in the future.
Why do I do What I Do?
I practice law because I enjoy learning the law and figuring out new ways to help my clients as our laws change. I love to help people, and I feel particularly good at the conclusion of a case when a client tells me that, not only did I get them the money they needed or were entitled to but I also showed them they had the strength to fight for what was right. Many times the cases we handle have an impact greater than just that one person or situation. It is very rewarding to see the results of our hard work making in real difference in people’s lives.
